James Finnerty Dies after Illness
James P. Finnerty, 621 New York Street, Dunmore, died Thursday in Mercy Hospital after an illness. Born in County Sligo, Ireland, he came to this country in his youth and was a member of St. Paul's Church and its Holy Name Society. Prior to his retirement in 1961, he was a former supervisor for the Pennsylvania Power & Light Co.
Surviving are his widow, the former Catherine Connors; three sons, James Jr., Scranton, Joseph, Dunmore, and John, Syracuse, NY, nine daughters, Mrs. Mary Gilmore, Mrs. Roy Donaldson, Mrs. Joseph Donohoe and Mrs. Charles Kelly, all of Scranton, Mrs. Edward Ross, Clarks Summit; Mrs. Homer Quinn, Syracuse, NY; Mrs. Paul Haggery, Buffalo, NY; Mrs. Leo Byrden, Binghamton, NY, and Mrs. Gerald Healey, Dunmore; 30 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Monday from P. J. Barrett Funral Home, 1222 Marion Street, Dunmore, with mass at 9:30 a.m. in st. Paul's Church. Interment, St Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow.Friends may call 2 to 4, 7 to 9 p.m.

The funeral of James P. Finnerty, 621 New York St., Dunmore, was held Monday from the Barrett Funeral Home, 1222 Marion St., Dunmore, with mass in St. Paul's Church celebrated by Msgr. Leo V. Gildea.Pallbearers: Paul Guse, Donald Morrison, Donald Schoen, Joseph Reed, Paul Burke, and John Roche. Interment, St. Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow.
