- SIDNEY JAMES BRYDEN Suddenly on Monday, December 2, 2002, Sidney Bryden, aged 84 years, passed away. Sidney was born on November 30, 1918 in Winnipeg, MB. He fought overseas in Western Europe during the Second World War. He returned to Winnipeg where he met and married Peggy Eileen Baker. Together they had two daughters, Beverly and Susan. Sidney worked for Hydro until his retirement in 1986. Sidney was predeceased by his wife Peggy in 1980, and by both his daughters, Beverly in 1984 and Susan in 1999. He is survived by his brother Les Bryden (Thelma) grandchildren Lana McNab (Doug), Leasa Burnett (Charlie), and Lori Bruneau (Harry) and five great grandchildren, Samantha, Karen, Sabrina, Caitlin and Jessica. Funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 6, at Glen Lawn Funeral Home located at 455 Lagimodiere Boulevard with a viewing one half hour prior to service. Interment to follow at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, Manitoba Division, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7.
