- WILLIAM (BILL) ARTHUR BRYDON was born on September 22, 1923, in Shoal Lake and passed away peacefully in Brandon on January 5, 2001. He is survived by his loving wife Sheila (nee Kelly) children, Barbara (John) Larkin of Headingly, Barry (Marion) of Virden and Letitia (Mark) Robinson of Winnipeg; and his pride and joy, his four grandchildren, Ian and Sheldon Brydon and Harlo and Melissa Larkin. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Maurice (Bella) Kelly; sisters-in-law, Kathleen Ashe, Emily Hewitt, Margaret Kingdon, Mabel Kelly, and Delta Kelly, and many relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his son Kelly, parents and sister Ruth McGinnis. He grew up in Shoal Lake and attended school at Sylvester Hill and then went to Shoal Lake for high school. He farmed with his father at Shoal Lake until 1947. The family moved to the Gnaton district south east of Birtle. In 1951 he married Sheila and together they carried on farming and raising their family. In 1993 they sold the farm and retired to Brandon after 53 years of farming. He belonged to Birtle United Church and served on the board for many years. He had 20 enjoyable years of driving the school bus in the Birtle area. He also enjoyed the activities of the Seniors Centre in Birtle. Once into Brandon, he enjoyed dancing, playing cards and socializing with friends. A day was never complete if he had not had company drop by or had gotten out to be with others. He cherished each and every friend. A celebration of Bill's life will be held at Knox United Church, 451-18th Street, Brandon, on Tuesday, January 9, at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Don Hudson will officiate. In lieu of flowers donations could be made to a charity of your choice. The beauty we have seen in each others souls, the love that is shared eternity enfolds, is the gift of a lifetime we wonderfully hold. Go forward my darling, all in is Gods plan. To peace, to comfort with no end. I thank you my Love, and I will miss you, my most beautiful man. Raes Funeral Service of Shoal Lake are in care of the arrangements.
