- Colonel Jamieson H. B. Newell peacefully passed away on May 16, 2017 in San Antonio at the age of 99. He was born May 3, 1918 in Baraboo, WI to Floyd and Jessie Newell.
He is survived by his daughter Bonnie S. Thomas, son Bryan K. Newell and his wife Chin Newell, grandchildren Brooks Newell, Cindy Newell, Brandee Lawther, Eric Newell, Brandy Newell, Brooks Thomas, Brad Hudson, Scot Thomas, Nick Newell, Katie Newell, Brianna Newell, and Brice Newell, great-grandchildren Dillon Newell, Jerrett Martin, Dylan Reiszner, Noah Reiszner and Hunter Reiszner, and nephews David Knoke, Gregory Knoke and Bruce Newell, and niece Bessie McCarthy.
He was preceded in death by wife Barbara Brooks Newell, son Brooks R. Newell, an infant daughter, sister Floyce Knoke, sister Glee Enright, brother Carroll Newell, nephew Cedrick Knoke, son-in-law Dr. Rip Thomas, and great-grandson Colton Newell.
Colonel Newell earned a BBA at the University of Pittsburgh and an MBA at the University of Colorado. He served as a Navigator, Radar Bombardier and Observer in the Army Air Corps and the US Air Force and was a Veteran of WWII and the Korean War.
Colonel Newell was a professor at the Air Force Academy 1958 - 1963, and at San Antonio College 1968 -1983, where he retired as Associate Professor Emeritus of Management.

Military Internment Services were held at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
