- Grafton, NH- Mildred Eleanor (Adams) Brydon, 88, went home to be with her Lord Thursday April 7, 2016.
She was born in Portsmouth, Virginia to the late Clifton K. & Elizabeth M. (Woodard) Adams on August 4, 1927. She graduated from Belmont, MA High School and continued her education earning two degrees, one in Computer Science and the other in Accounting.
Mildred was a voracious reader and loved to travel. Being the daughter of a career Navy officer, she had the opportunity to live all over the world, including China prior to and during WWII. Mildred retired from Nantucket Hospital following many years of dedicated service. She was a proud fifty plus year member of both the Order of Eastern Star and the Order of Amaranth of New York, and a member of the Kearsarge Community Presbyterian Church. She loved playing Bingo, making crafts, thrift shopping, and visiting the Canaan Senior Center. Mildred was a very kind and generous spirted person who was always willing to help others.
Mildred is survived by, sisters, Karen Matteson of Bath NY and Grafton, NH, and Barbara Henderson (Warren) of Harvard, MA, as well as nine nieces and nephews, numerous great-nieces and great-nephews, and her four-legged Chiweenie companion, Skipper.
Mildred was predeceased by her parents, her loving husband Philip Roy Brydon, her brother Clifton Charles Adams, Sr., and her four-legged companions King and Willie.
Services were held on Monday April 11, with the Rev. Tom Atkins officiating.
