- BRYDEN, Finlay Armstrong, Halifax, passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2008, after a lengthy illness. He was involved with the fire department for many years, first as a volunteer and then as a career. He was a man of many talents, some of which included running a small snowmobile business (Finn's Moto Sports), carpentry and mechanics. Finlay was a son of the late George and Gladys Bryden of Halifax. He was predeceased by infant sister, Gladys Irene; his brother, Reginald (Halifax); and sister-in-law, Shirley (CountryHarbour). Finlay is survived by his wife, Marguerite Bryden; sons, David, Halifax; Wayne (Angela), Halifax; grandchildren, Chad and Amber; daughter-in-law, Marilyn, Upper Stewiacke; brothers, George (Mable), Kenny (Pat), Allen (Kay), Halifax; Robert, Country Harbour; sister-in-law, Alice, Halifax; as well as many nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held Monday, April 7, at 11 a.m. in Emmanuel Church, Spryfield, with Rev. Dianna Frye officiating,rec eption to follow in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the canadian Red Cross Society. Special thanks to Palliative care.
