- BRYDON, Robert Carter, was born in Richmond on December 31, 1936. He died at his home on Friday, November 30, 2012. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Brydon III and Jean Wood Brydon. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Mary Bullard Brydon; and their children, and families; his son, Carter Christian Brydon, wife, Paige, and their children, Miller and MacLaren; his stepdaughter, Susannah O'Brien and husband, Jim, and children, Hayley, Phillip and Forrest; his stepdaughter, Joellyn Miller and husband, Alan, and children, Gordon and Stuart; stepson, Edward Sawyer and wife, Whitney, and their children, Hunter and Anderson. He is also survived by his sister, Jean Wood Brydon and her son, Ed Willis. Bob was a graduate of St. Christopher's School in 1955. He attended the University of Virginia and graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a B.S. in Business in 1963. He was active in the Virginia National Guard in 1959 and spent six months on active duty. He received his C. P. A. certificate from the State of Virginia in 1966 and was partner in the accounting firms of Brydon, McRee and Smith, Cherry, Bekaert and Holland and Walker Consulting. He was a member of the American Institute of CPA's and the Virginia Society of CPA's. He was a member of the West Richmond Businessmen's Association, and was Lt. Governor of the Fourth Division of Kiwanis International. He served as treasurer of the Society of Colonial Wars in the State of Virginia and member and past president of the Estate Planning Council of Virginia. Bob was a lifelong member of the Country Club of Virginia where he was an avid golfer, gin rummy and bridge player. He was a forever UVA football fan. A memorial service will be held at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church on Tuesday, December 4, at 3 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 6000 Grove Avenue in Richmond, Virginia 23226.
