      -------------------------

The first meeting of the Mount Pleasant district was held May 18, 1878 with a F.A. Brydon attending. They decided on whose house the school would be in until they could build a schoolhouse. They decided on Mr. McBain's house. Christina Fraser was the first teacher.

James Brydon contracted the building of the school, Mt Pleasant #50. It was built on the north west corner of Peter McLean's homestead.
