Mrs. Hazel Foote Hazel Grace Foote ? 98, formerly of Woodville, Kings County, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2009 in Grand View Manor, Berwick. Born in Woodville, she was a daughter of the late Tom and Ada (Kirk) Petty. She had been an active member of the former Wesley Knox United Church, Woodville, where she was a Life Member of the United Church Women. She had also been a member and Past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Evangeline Chapter, Kentville. She found much satisfaction and peace in gardening and was well known for her gardens. She was an author and local historian. She is survived by three daughters, Jean Brydon, Black Rock; Ada (Everett) MacDuff, Centreville; Alice (Rudy) VanHattem, Woodville; two sons, George (Trina) and John (Linda), both of Woodville; a son-in-law, George Baldwin, Woodville; two sisters, Bernice Baltzer, Grand View Manor; Elizabeth Nelson, Amherst; 26 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Henry Hartley Foote; a daughter, Grace Baldwin; a sister, Rose Dixon. Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m., Saturday, March 21, 2009 with an Order of the Eastern Star service to be held at 7:00 p.m., both in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. The funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 22, 2009 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Reverend Elizabeth Johnson officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in the Lakeview Cemetery, Lakeville, Kings County. Family flowers only by request. Donations in memory may be made to Grand View Manor or a charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville.
