Army Veteran Worked For Erlanger

William "Bill" Mills, 65, of Hixson, died on Friday, May 9, 2008, in a local hospital.
Bill was born in Detroit, Mi., and graduated in the class of 1960 from Howe Military School in Howe, In., and Western Michigan University. Bill was a SGT E5 in the U.S. Army and received the following medals: Good Conduct Medal, Marksman, Army of Occupation Medal (Berlin, Germany) and Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal.
He moved to the Chattanooga area in the 1970's and was employed at Erlanger Hospital and held several positions in the health care industry.
Besides his love for family, Bill enjoyed a passion for racecars and the Michigan Wolverines. He had been known to cite "Go Blue" to everyone he met.
Bill lost his parents, Dorothy and James William Mills, at the early age of 11. He was raised by Bill Bryden and the late Virginia Bryden.
He is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Debbie Mills; daughters, Nicole Mills (Kevin) Hendrickson of Signal Mountain, Elizabeth Corinne (Daniel) Barber of Soddy Daisy, Tn.; stepdaughter, Amber Nicole (Sam) Pittard of Athens, Ga.; stepson, Christopher (Lisa) Fincher of Bulverde, Tx.; father, Bill Bryden of Canton, Mich.; grandchildren, Riley, Cay, Ryan, Avery, Colin and Grady; brothers and sisters, Judy Orlandi, Nancy Bryden, Richard Bryden, and Mark Bryden, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Monday, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Morty Lloyd officiating. Interment will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
