- PERRY, Laurie Wayne - (born January 21, 1933) - Entered into rest at Kingston General Hospital on July 21, 2014. Beloved son of Violet (McCausland) & Wilfred Perry (both deceased) of Cloyne. Predeceased by his wife Elida Bryden of Flinton. Predeceased by brother and sister-in-law Norval & Gwen Perry of Marble Lake. Survived by Sister June Hawley (Geordie, deceased) of Cloyne. Devoted father of Lori Ann Parks (Oakie) of Flinton and Dale Perry (Patti) of Interlaken NY. Proud Grampa to Dallas & Chris Hartwick of Tweed, Kati Parks (Paul Gourdier) of Marble Lake, Naomi Parks (Justin Duquette) of Tweed, Drew Parks (Shelby Buldyke) of Ottawa, and Mitchell Perry, Doug Perry, Jake Perry, and Meghan Perry, all of Interlaken, NY. Very proud Great-Grampa to Trinity, Wyatt, Elida, Jace & Hayden. Loving Partner and fellow-musician for 30 years to Margaret (Brant) Anderson of Belleville. Papa Laurie to her children Cathy Dings (Karl) and Tim Anderson (Susan) of Kingston, and to her grandchildren Matthew Dings, Alicia Dings and Emily Anderson. Laurie owned and operated Twin Cedars Campground on Marble Lake for decades. As a well-respected and admired fellow-musician to hundreds throughout Ontario and NY State, he hosted the Old Tyme Fiddlers' Picnic for 20+ years and the Twin Cedars Bluegrass Jamboree for several years. He was sometimes referred to as "The Mayor of Marble Lake". Laurie was employed by the Belleville Public Utilities Commission from which he retired in 1992. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and a member of Christ Church, Tyendinaga. He was as avid about hunting and fishing as he was about his music - an all-round active, loving, giving person all his life. He was a gifted man in many areas of life and was held in high esteem by a multitude of cousins, nieces, and nephews. He will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him. The family will receive friends at the McCONNELL FUNERAL HOME, Tweed from 2-4 & 7-9 Saturday where a memorial service will take place on Sunday July 27, 2014 at 2:00 pm.
