    • BRYDEN, Mrs. Avis

The death occurred on July 22 of one of Middleton's oldest and highly respectable citizens in the person of Mrs. Avis BRYDEN. The late Mrs. Avis BRYDEN was born 80 years ago, a daughter of the late George and Esther FORBES. She had been in failing health for sometime, but only confined to her bed for two weeks. She will be missed in home as well as by friends and neighbors, also by the Church and Trinity Anglican Guild of which she was a member. In the year of 1888, she married Frank MINGO, who predeceased her in 1893, also two sons Frank and Ashford. In June 1902 she was married to Arthur BRYDEN who survives her also six grandchildren and a number of other relatives. After a short service at the house the remains were conveyed to Trinity Anglican Church where a large crowd had gathered to pay their respect to the aged citizen. Service being conducted by rector Rev. F.W. PLUMMER. The hymns sung were Forever with the Lord, Rock of Ages and her favorite, Abide With Me. The pall bearers were George DOUGLAS, William MURPHY, Victor FORBES, DeCitt MacLEOD, David MINGO and George CLARK. The floral tributes were beautiful giving silent testimony to the esteem in which the departed was held.
