    • FISK, Augustus (d.) b. Suffolk, Eng., 1790, d. 1877, came to Canada and settled in "Paisley Block," con. 2, B. lot 5, 1838. He m. Ann Curtiss in Eng., she died in 1855, age 67. They were members of the Church of England. He was a Conservative in politics, a man of strong convictions, and an honorable, upright citizen. Issue: Richard, Samuel, Sr., James, Robert, Mrs. Lloyd , Mrs. George Whitelaw, Mrs. Jas. G. Wright, Jr., Mrs. Cassidy, Hannah (d. young); John, and Elizabeth (d. in Eng.). Richard, m. Ann Hammond, set. Waterloo Co. Issue: Austin, Edward, James, Samuel, George, William R., and Mrs. Jacob Weichter.

      Richard's line: All of the boys of this family, excepting Edward, who set. at Calgary, and William R., who set. on the Waterloo homestead, went to Bruce Co., and settled; all were successful.

      William R., m. first, Ellen Cleghorn. Issue: Mrs. Arch. Newstead, Mrs. And. Richardson, Charles H., and John H.; second wife, Christina Hamilton. Issue: lda Ellen, and Leila M. He owns the old Richard Fisk farm in Waterloo (210 acres in all).

      Samuel, Sr., and James, remained in England. Robert d. young.

      John, b. in England, 1834, was four years old when he came with the family to Canada. He was brought up on the homestead in "Paisley Block", where he has always lived, and which he owns. He went to school to Wm. Cowan, with the Laidlaws, McIntoshs, Hoods, Hendersons and others. He m. Mary Henderson, nee McCorkindale. Issue: John A., who assists his father on the farm. John Fisk, like his father, is a sterling citizen. In politics he is an Independent, and in religion belongs to the Church of England.
