    • Descended from the Fraser Clan (Nova Scotia); father came to Manitoba in 1871, returned East, and finally came to Manitoba in 1879; was a pioneer of both the Glenboro and Portage districts. Mayor Fraser came to Gilbert Plains 1907; farmed; afterwards in the livery business for seven years. Purchased present business in 1914; elected to the council where he served four years; elected. Mayor of Gilbert Plains, 1924. Member Retail Merchants Association. Member, Agricultural Society. Member, IOOF, Past Noble Grand. His two brothers, Garnet Brydon Fraser and E. Blake Fraser, served overseas with 1st Canadian Mounted Rifles. Saw much service. Presbyterian. Liberal. Address, Gilbert Plains, Manitoba.
