  • Notes
    • pg. 78 HISTORY OF TATAMAGOUCHE...
Charles Reilly, of Irish "descent, came from Pictou to Tatamagouche and worked for a while in Campbell's tannery. His first house was a small one built in the front of what is now
the house lot of C. K. McLellan. For a number of years he lived there with his sisters until they were married to James McKeen, Robert Bryden, and James McLearn Reilly was married to Susan Kent, the widow of William Bryden. Subsequently he lived on the property now owned by his daughters Misses Annie and Sarah. Here, till his death, he carried on his trade as a butcher. He was for a short time in the shipbuilding business and built a few
vessels on the river below where James Bryden now resides. William Reilly, of the village, is his only surviving son. Another son, John, died in the States only a year or so ago.
