    • HUCULAK, Margaret Gladys (Allen) - July 4, 1935 to June 2, 2012 It is with great sadness and fond memories we announce the passing of Margaret after a long illness. Her last days were spent at the Thompson General Hospital with her family and close friends by her side. Margaret was born in St. Boniface Manitoba. Through her childhood, Margaret lived in many parts of Manitoba and British Columbia with her mother Marjorie Allen and brothers Ronald and MacDougall. Upon graduating high school she joined the Royal Canadian Air Force. Margaret married Alex Huculak on November 10, 1961, in Winnipeg, Manitoba. They raised their two daughters, Marjorie and Elizabeth in Lockport, Manitoba. In 1981 Margaret was predeceased by her mother Marjorie (April) and her husband Alex (June). At the request of her grandchildren Margaret moved to Thompson in 1996. She worked until the age of 75 and was always an active community contributor. Through her sixteen years in Thompson, she worked as a Resource Coordinator for Seniors/Elders. She also held many volunteer and board executive positions including the Health Advisory Council, Crime Stoppers, Legion, Chamber of Commerce, Relay for Life, plus many more. Margaret was known for her generosity, candour, and wit. In Thompson she was "Nanny" to many, and a well respected community leader. She also had a large circle of family and friends throughout Manitoba and Canada. Left to mourn and cherish her memory are her children Elizabeth (Travis) Lychuk and Marjorie (Jeff) Huculak; her grandchildren Colton (Nikita), Brooke and Hailey Lychuk; her great grandchildren Jack and Charlee; as well as a large extended family. Please join us in a celebration of Margaret's Life. A Memorial Service for her southern family and friends will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, June 15, 2012 at the Knox Presbyterian Church 341 Eveline St., Selkirk, Manitoba. Thank you to the Thompson General Hospital staff for their loving care and dedication through Margaret's many months of illness. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Thompson General Hospital Palliative Care Unit.
