" Thomas Glasgow was born in Linlithgowshire, Scotland, and died in 1843, aged fifty-six years, and his widow died in 1848, aged fifty-seven years. Both were members of the Presbyterian Church. Their children were: Janet; Agnes, wife of Thomas Gillen; Elizabeth; Sophia; John; Thomas; Peter; and James, of Australia. Peter and James are the only survivors. The paternal grandparents were John and Agnes (Gray) Glasgow, natives of Linlithgowshire, where they were farming people and spent their entire lives. The maternal grandparents were Robert and Janet (Hume) Burns, of Scotland."
