    • The will of William Amos who died June 15, 1863 states:

      "First I will and devise that all my debts be paid and whereas I hold a mortgage amounting to nine hundred and eighty three dollars the remainder after the first item is satisfied I will and bequeath to my children namely Walter George Thomas William John Alexander Isabella and Agnes or their heirs to be equally divided between them. And I appoint John Ferguson and Alexander Taylor my executors to this my last will and revoking all other by me made. In witness whereof I havetoset my hand and affixed my seal this day of July 14th in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty two
