    • C. Douglas "Dick" Coleman - 87, of Chipman Brook, Kings County, passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at home. Born on December 5, 1922 in Upper Burlington, Hants County, he was a son of the late Cornelius and Grace (Brydon) Coleman. Dick was a veteran of the Second World War, having served overseas. He returned home to work as a carpenter until his retirement. He was an avid hunter and loved the outdoors. He is survived by five sons, Alton, Atikokan, Ontario; Neil, Danny, Peter (Diane) and Randy, all of Chipman Brook; four daughters, Joyce (Norman) Dilts, Tucson, Arizona; Anita (Geoff) Langill, Pugwash; Sharon (Kevin) Matheson, Cole Harbour; Lynn (Peter) Godin, Eastern Passage; two sisters, Alice, Ontario and Evelyn Doherty, Chipman Brook; ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Clara (Fredericks); a brother, Vernon; a sister, Margaret Usher; a daughter-in-law, Diane. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday, February 5, 2010 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 6, 2010. A private family burial will take place in the East Black Rock Cemetery. Family flowers only, by request. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
